Year 9 Art
Unit 1.Use drawing processes and procedures
Unit 2.Extend ideas in media and techniques to produce new work.

Year 10 Art
Unit 1. Use drawing processes and procedures
Unit 2. Extend ideas in media and techniques to produce new work.
Unit 3. (full year only) Generate and develop ideas.

Year 10 student Work

Year 11 NCEA Level 1 Art
Achievement standards:
1.2 Use drawing processes and procedures (5 credits/internal)
1.3 Generate and develop ideas in making art works (12credits/external)
1.4 Extend ideas in media and techniques to produce new work (4 credits/internal)

Year 11 student Work

Year 12 NCEA Level 2 Art/Painting
Achievement standards:

2.1 Research and documents ideas and methods in painting (6 credits/internal)
2.2 Generate and develop ideas using drawing processes and procedures in painting (6 credits/internal)
2.3 Produce a body of original work in painting (12 credits/external)

Year 12 (Practical) Art
NCEA Level 2
2.1 Research Ideas and Methods in Sculpture
2.2 Generate and Develop Ideas in Printmaking
2.3 Produce a Body of Work in Painting

Year 13 NCEA Level 3 Art/Painting
Achievement standards:

3.2 Investigate ideas and methods in painting (6 credits/internal)
3.3 Produce original work within painting to show extensive knowledge of art-making methods and ideas (14 credits/external)

Work in progress is assessed throughout each unit, and by submission at the end of each term for summative assessment.

Senior Courses

Year 11 (Practical) Art
NCEA Level 1 24 Credits
1.1 Research Art and Artworks from Maori and European Traditions and their contexts Internal Assessment, 3 credits
1.2 Use drawing processes and procedures Internal Assessment, 5 credits
1.3 Generate and develop ideas in making art-works External Assessment, 12 credits
1.4 Extend ideas in other media and techniques Internal Assessment, 4 credits
Year 13 Printmaking/ Painting/ Design
NCEA Level 3 24 Credits
The assessment methods and criteria for each of the above courses as follows:
3.4 Research an art making tradition and discuss its influence on recent Internal Assessment, 4 credits
3.5 Generate, analyse and clarify ideas to show understanding of processes, procedures, materials and techniques in a drawing study within a selected for of Internal Assessment, 6 credits
3.6 Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of existing procedures and practices in a selected form of Internal Assessment, 14 credits
