Year 9:
As part of the Technology rotation, Year 9 students spend one term
following the Technological Practice to create a wheeled toy
for kindergarten children. To aid the clarity of design
ideas, students are taught some basic graphic communication
skills, such as isometric, oblique and orthographic
drawing. Armed with these skills students then create a
range of design ideas and developments that they justify
through the use of annotation. During the manufacture of
the toy students are shown how to safely and correctly use
measuring and marking out tools, techniques. Once
constructed students are then asked to complete an
Evaluation to reflect on how successful their toy has been.
