All classes in Music offer an opportunity to enjoy practical musical making, composition and improvisation as well as learning to read and write in a musical language. All skill learning is enhanced by ICT back up activities which offer hands on practice to all students using MIDI files, CD Rom, and specialised software programmes.
Opportunities to learn an musical instrument and be part of a larger performance group are also offered.

Year 12 Practical Music and Technology
This exciting new course offers students who can play a musical instrument the opportunity to learn basic skills in performance and audio technology.
- Learn to set up a PA system

- Manipulate and operate MIDI systems
- Get to know what makes the New Zealand Music Industry tick
Year 13
For the first time, you can choose either to follow a practical pathway, majoring in composition or performance) or a more academic course of Music Studies. We will aim to tailor a course which best suits your strengths and experience and prepares you for your future out of school.
