German - Events

Restaurant Trips
Senior classes usually visit a German restaurant or café during the year

International Languages Week
There are usually various competitions and activities around the theme of second languages, as well as German food.

Exchanges
The most popular is the Waikato University Exchange. This is usually for year 12 students, and involves travelling to Germany for approximately seven weeks during our summer holidays. Students stay with a host family, attend school, enjoy a German Christmas and usually see something of their area during the two week Christmas break. The exchange partner then usually comes to New Zealand a few weeks after our student has returned, and attends school here for the same amount of time.
At the end of 2002 Louisa Yen travelled to Nuremberg in Germany, and thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

There are also various other international exchanges for differing periods of time.
Contact Mrs Harris if interested.
