  • Static Image
  • Speaking about self in an interview
  • Listening and interacting in a discussion
  • Collecting information using a range of skills
  • Write simple information texts
Year 12
  • Write transactional texts
  • Read a variety of written texts and respond
  • Reading comprehension
  • Talk about self in a formal interview
  • Listening and understanding
Year 12
  • Read a variety of written texts and respond
  • Write transactional texts in complex forms
  • Reading comprehension
  • Speaking to obtain good and services
  • Listening and understanding
  • IELTS skills in reading, writing, listening and speaking

English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) - Assessment

Year 9
Students have weekly grammar and vocabulary tests. All students sit the Mid-year and End of Year Exams.

Year 10
Students have weekly grammar and vocabulary tests. Students sit formative assessments in preparation for Year 11 NCEA.
All students sit the Mid-year and End of Year Exam.

Year 11
Students have weekly grammar and vocabulary tests. Students sit formative and summative assessments.
All students sit the Mid-year and End of Year Exams (3 hours in duration).

Year 12
Students have weekly grammar and vocabulary tests. Students sit formative and summative assessments.
All students sit the Mid-year and End of Year Exams (3 hours in duration)

Year 13
Students have weekly grammar and vocabulary tests. Students sit formative and summative assessments.
All students sit the Mid-year and End of Year Exams (3 hours in duration).
