A word from the Chairperson of the Parents Association of Glendowie College

Can you spare some time to be part of our lively and friendly group, or would you consider signing up to be a Friend of the Parents’ Association?

The Parents Association has two main objectives: to make parents feel welcome and comfortable at the College by organising a variety of social events and information evenings, and to provide financial support to the College for helping with the school’s academic, cultural and sporting endeavours. It’s great if these events and fundraisers can be shared by many hands as it lightens the load. New ideas are always welcome.

The commitment involved in being part of the school community is to attend, where possible, all meetings of the association. We meet monthly on a Thursday in the Staff Room at 7.30pm. The meetings are also attended by a member of the Senior Leadership Team and by a member of the Board of Trustees.

The meetings are informative about events and happenings at the school and are a forum to put your ideas forward on matters relating to Glendowie College. They are a great way to meet new people and become involved in the life of the school.

If you choose instead to be a Friend of the Parents’ Association, we would contact you for help when needed, for example decorating the hall for a dance or the Sports Awards dinner.

Please consider joining. We need your support to enhance the College environment for our children as well as to continue to build the College community spirit. Please feel free to call Rachel or Jennie for further details or if you have any questions. We look forward to meeting you all.
