“Students take pride in their school and are motivated to achieve. Success rates in national qualifications have continued to improve…exceeding national averages” (2008 ERO Report) and in the 2007 Scholarship results Glendowie College features in the top 10 schools in Auckland (June 2008 Metro Magazine, Auckland’s Top Schools For Scholars).
“The college promotes a culture of professional learning to improve student learning and achievement” (2008 ERO Report). A newly developed learning framework is aimed at providing students with lifelong skills and will support the implementation of the new curriculum. Glendowie College enjoys strong pastoral and academic support systems.
“Teaching and learning programmes are underpinned by mutually courteous teacher-student relationships and relationships amongst students are respectful and affirming. Older students mix well with their younger peers, acting as positive role models and helping to create a friendly, inclusive and supportive environment” (2008 ERO Report).

Co-curricular sport offers extensive sporting opportunities and participation rates continue to increase each year. Representation is achieved at increasing regional, national and international status.
The Arts programme is impressive showcasing concerts, drama productions, debating, performing arts, music and visual displays. Students participate in competitions both local and overseas.
